Evolving by leveraging time time-tested core strengths and values
Phoenix has come a long way since its origins as DiFazio Electric Inc. in 1953 as a commercial electrical contractor in Deer Park, New York to become a leading company in EPC services for turnkey power plant projects throughout the United States and Canada. The principals of the company date back to the “DiFazio days” and have collectively invested decades of time building the company to its current acclaimed position in the industry.
In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, DiFazio Electric began to execute more and larger power generation projects. As their success grew a dedicated Power Plant Construction platform was established, and in 2007, DiFazio Power & Electric (DPE) was formed by current Phoenix principals to convey emphasis on the power industry as a core market for the business, with a focus on EPC project execution.
In 2012, Darrell Jenkins and Tom Buchanan, then DPE CEO and President, respectively, acquired the Power & Industrial business of DPE and formed the new entity now known as Phoenix Power Group.
Phoenix’s reputation for performance and integrity led to Phoenix being acquired by Quanta Services in May of 2015. Quanta Services, Inc., a publicly traded company (PWR), is well established in the power generation and transmission industry and provides a solid base and valuable resources to Phoenix’s operations.
Today, Phoenix continues to provide total power generation EPC and construction solutions to the power generation sector leveraging the decades of experience amassed from the portfolio of successfully completed projects throughout US and Canada. We have accomplished this by delivering best-in-class safety leadership and performance while providing exceptional quality and value to our customers. In addition, expanding on our decades of EPC experience and leveraging Quanta's capabilities, Phoenix also executes EPC services for specialized hydrocarbon processing facilities at boutique refineries, petrochemical and other HPI plants, as well as renewable fuels production facilities.
