Kalina Cycle Vapour Cycle Power Plant and Waste Heat Recovery Projects
CLIENT: KALINA POWER
LOCATION: WESTERN CANADA
SCOPE: EPC CONTRACTOR
Phoenix Power Group is EPC Contractor for 21 MW Gas Turbine combined cycle units utilizing 6 MW Kalina Vapour Cycle technology at several sites in North Western Alberta. Phoenix’s current scope includes preliminary design, costing and project execution planning for the EPC scope of work.
The plants consist of a 15MW Gas turbine combined with a 6MW KALiNA Cycle to generate 21MW of power. This configuration provides for significant performance advantages by generating 40% additional power using the gas turbine waste heat.
The Kalina Cycle utilizes an ammonia-water mixture as a working fluid to improve system thermodynamic efficiency and provide more flexibility in various operating conditions.
Phoenix is also the EPC Partner for compressor waste heat recovery utilizing the Kalina Vapour Cycle at numerous client sites, primarily in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
